The street everyone walks down
Every visitor to the Acropolis Museum ends up on Makrygianni Street, because the metro exit is at one end and the museum at the other. In between, on the pedestrian stretch, are the restaurants with the terraces, the ice cream, the coffee, and most of the neighbourhood's evening life.
The lockers are one block off the street. Lempesi opens off the street about halfway down. From either end, two to four minutes.
If you are staying on Makrygianni Street, you have the best of the neighbourhood at your door and the lockers around the corner for the check-out day.

How it works
- Book and pay online. Pick a size and pay by card: your QR code arrives by email straight away.
- Drop your bags. Scan the QR code at the terminal and the locker opens. No booking? Pay by card at the terminal instead, if a locker is free.
- Come and go. The same QR code reopens your locker as often as you like until 22:00.

Questions travellers ask
Is Makrygianni Street the same as the Makrygianni neighbourhood?
The neighbourhood takes its name from the street, which in turn is named after Yannis Makriyannis, a hero of the Greek war of independence. His statue is at the top of the street by the museum.
Can I eat on Makrygianni Street before collecting my bags?
Yes, the lockers are open until 22:00. Dinner on the street and a two-minute walk to Lempesi 11 afterwards works well.
