The gap nobody talks about

Most hotels in Makrygianni are small: renovated apartment blocks with a dozen rooms and no luggage room. The big ones on Syngrou Avenue will usually hold a bag for a few hours; the small ones often cannot. And holiday apartments never can: once the door code stops working at 11:00, your suitcase is on the pavement with you.

That gap is exactly what the lockers are for. Book online the night before, drop the bags any time from 9:00, and get them back whenever you like before 22:00. A size S locker takes a cabin bag and a backpack for €7 a day; an XL takes a large suitcase for €17.50.

How it works

  1. Book and pay online. Pick a size and pay by card: your QR code arrives by email straight away.
  2. Drop your bags. Scan the QR code at the terminal and the locker opens. No booking? Pay by card at the terminal instead, if a locker is free.
  3. Come and go. The same QR code reopens your locker as often as you like until 22:00.

Questions travellers ask

My hotel will not keep my bags after check-out. What are my options near the Acropolis Museum?

Our self-service lockers at Lempesi 11 are within five minutes of every hotel in Makrygianni and northern Koukaki. Book online, drop the bags from 9:00, collect before 22:00.

I arrive at 9:00 and check-in is at 15:00. Can I leave my luggage somewhere?

Yes. The lockers open at 9:00. Drop your bags, spend the morning at the Acropolis and the museum, and collect them on your way to the hotel.

Is there a luggage room at Airbnb apartments in Makrygianni?

Almost never. Holiday apartments have no reception, so the lockers at Lempesi 11 are the usual solution for the hours between check-out and your departure.
